School Board Expels Four Students

The Warren Board of Education held a regular meeting on Thursday, March 13, 2014, in the Administration office meeting room.

After adopting the consent agenda which included the minutes of the February 10 regular board meeting and out of state trip requests, students from Eastside New Vision Charter School presented a program on their progress of learning by sharing with the board their goal binders.

Darrell Odom, an architect with Odom & Associates, provided an overview of the planned renovation project at the High School.  The plans were approved.

After returning from executive season, the superintendent made the following recommendations to accept resignations at the end of the contract year for Sarah Marshall, cafeteria worker; Dana Langford, ABC Lead Teacher.  The board approved the recommendations.

All licensed personnel (as listed with restricted as noted were recommended for contract renewal.  In addition, the board voted to offer a contract to Kashif Kinkaid as technology services technician.

Coleman Dowda was hired part-time for the remainder of the 2013-14 school term as ADED WAGE at SEACBEC.

Personnel Policy updates were approved as was the financial report.

Four students were expelled from the Warren School District:  three for issuing a bomb threat and one for theft at SEACBEC.  The names are withheld since they are juveniles.
