A shooting near the Save-A-Lot  Food store  in Monticello Friday March 14th has a connection to Warren in more than one way.  The suspect is Jonathan Woods from Warren.  Not only is he from Warren, an incident just prior to the shooting resulted in Warren Police Officers being called to 202 Baker street to investigate an altercation  Mr. Woods was allegedly involved in.

According to Warren Police a call was received around 6:24 P.M. to a residence at 202 Baker Street.  The officer, upon arrival, was told that Mr. Woods had been involved in an altercation.  Efforts were begun to try to locate the subject in Warren.  It turned out Mr. Woods and a passenger traveled to Monticello, and about 7:40 P.M. the shooting occurred.   The individual in the car was shot and killed.  Mr. Woods was then shot by a Drew County law enforcement  officer and is hospitalized.

Mr. Woods was scheduled for a first appearance court hearing by video link from his hospital room Monday, March 17th, by Circuit Judge Don Glover.  Warren Police are providing  information to the Arkansas State Police who are conducting the investigation.
