Quorum Court Closes County Landfill On Saturdays

The Bradley County Quorum Court granted County Judge Neely the authority to close the county landfill on Saturdays beginning immediately.  It has been open several Saturdays per month for one half day.  Judge Neely told the Court that very few people have been using the Saturday service and the cost is more than is being taken in.  After some discussion the member told the Judge to not reopen on Saturdays till further notice.

In other action the Court voted to lease 5 new road graders at a cost of $7260.10 per month.  The graders will be under full warranty for parts, labor and travel at no cost to the county.  Bradley County may use each unit up to 1450 hours.  Insurance must be provided by the county.

Quorum Court members approve ordinance #695 approving a voting system grant.

Judge Neely reported on work on several county roads.

There was discussion about finding suitable land for use by the 4-H club shooting team to shoot 22 rifles.  Eight of the nine Justices were present.
