Intermodal Authority Meets

The Southeast Arkansas Intermodal Facility Authority met Wednesday in the conference room of the BCIDC to conduct their monthly board meeting. John Lipton called the meeting to order and Roger George gave the invocation. During the business portion of the meeting the minutes from the previous meeting on May 20 were approved. Roger George gave the financial report in place of Bob Milton. A motion was made and passed to approve the Financial Report and pay invoices totaling $148,767.98. Charles Collins gave the Garver Engineers Report. Collins stated that Phoenix Fabricators is 7 to 10 days away from being complete with the erection of the water tower and that T & T Construction has installed the fence but that the weather must improve before work on the crossover road could continue. 
In the new business portion of the meeting a motion was carried to seek legal counsel with Rick Roper about the Freedom of Information Act before amending the bylaws of the SEARIFA to allow proxy voting. John Lipton gave more information on the Memorandum of Understanding with Ports and Foreign Trade Zones. Patrecia Hargrove submitted the requests for payment from the DRA and EDA for approval. Hargrove also submitted invoices to pay SEAEDD Administration Fees. The motion carried that John Lipton would sign the payment requests. Hargrove gave more information about SEAEDD’s role in the Memorandum of Understanding with Ports.
