Did you lose your job when the OMP plant closed? Then you should read this

Loss of employment is frightening. The recent unexpected closure of the Ozark Mountain Poultry facility in Warren put 200 people out of work. But there are other jobs available, and other industries are hiring—if you have the right education and training.

South Arkansas Community College in El Dorado is holding Manufacturing Exploration on Tuesday, April 26, on its East Campus (3696 E. Main Road), from 9 a.m. to noon. It will be worth the short drive from Bradley County to get a look at the programs that we offer in advanced manufacturing (advanced welding, process technology and industrial technology), and to get an idea of what jobs that you can get after completing them.

You already may have many of the skills that you need to be successful in these areas. You may qualify for financial aid. And depending on your area of interest, you might be able to go through an entire program and graduate by the end of this summer.

You have nothing to lose and, possibly, a lot to gain. Get some friends together who are in a similar situation, and come over together together in a group. We’ll even give you free refreshments.

Also, even if you aren’t unemployed, but maybe you just hate your current job and want something more stable—we’d still love to see you, so come on over.

For more information about Manufacturing Exploration, call Grace Palculict at (870) 875-7288. For more about these and other technical programs offered at SouthArk, see www.southark.edu/ct
