According to the Bradley County Sheriff's Department, two people were arrested on June 8, after a search warrant was presented and a raid on a residence was carried out by the 10th Judicial District Drug Task Force and officers of the Bradley County Sheriff's office. Arrested were 30-year old Derek Simmons and 37-year old Terri Myrick who resided at 117 Bradley 7 North.
During the search, officers found 10 firearms, more than 7 grams of methamphetamine, 5 ounces of marijuana, 7 marijuana plants, and drug paraphernalia.
Both of the arrested were charged with manufacturing of a controlled substance which is a Class C felony. If convicted, they could face 3-10 years in the Arkansas Department of Correction and a $10,000 fine. In addition, they were charged with possession of a controlled substance (meth) which is a Class B felony that is punishable by 5-20 years and a $15,000 fine. They were also charged with possession of a controlled substance (marijuana), a Class C felony and possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class D felony. The two were also charged with having simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms which is a Class Y felony and carries a possible sentence of 10-40 years or life in prison.
$50,000 bond was set during a bond hearing held Thursday, June 9 before Judge Bruce Anderson. Simmons has been released on bond. Myrick is being held in the Jefferson County Detention Facility with charges pending.
