Southeast Arkansas Political Animals Club To Meet On July 20th

The Southeast Arkansas Political Animals Club is pleased to announce that Rex Nelson will be the featured speaker of the group’s next meeting. The meeting will take place on Wednesday, July 20th at the Monticello Western Sizzlin from 12 to 1pm.

Rex Nelson has served as a reporter, D.C. bureau chief, and editor of Arkansas Business. Additionally, Nelson served as Director of Policy and Communications and campaign manager for Governor Mike Huckabee. In 2005, Rex was appointed by President Bush to serve as the Alternate Federal Co-Chairman of the Delta Regional Authority. More recently, Nelson served as President of Arkansas’ Independent Colleges and Universities. In 2015, Nelson was named Senior Vice President and Director of Corporate Communications for Simmons First. Rex is chairman of the Political Animals Club of Little Rock and author of the Southern Fried blog.

“The Southeast Arkansas Political Animals Club is thrilled to host Rex at its next meeting. Rex is an Arkansas institution and a champion for the state of Arkansas and its Delta region, in particular. Rex Nelson’s experience in and knowledge of state and national politics, as well as his famous story-telling, will be a real treat. Our first meeting was attended by thirty people and we hope to see even more people at this next event,” said John Davis, Chairman of the Southeast Arkansas Political Animals Club.

The Southeast Arkansas Political Animals Club is a non-partisan group for individuals in Southeast Arkansas who seek civil discussion of political and policy issues impacting our region, state, and nation. There are no membership fees to join the Southeast Arkansas Political Animals Club, and all are welcome. You are only responsible for purchasing your lunch.
