The Southeast Arkansas Political Animals Club is pleased to announce that Rex Nelson will be the featured speaker of the group’s next meeting. The meeting will take place on Wednesday, July 20th at the Monticello Western Sizzlin from 12 to 1pm.
Rex Nelson has served as a reporter, D.C. bureau chief, and editor of Arkansas Business. Additionally, Nelson served as Director of Policy and Communications and campaign manager for Governor Mike Huckabee. In 2005, Rex was appointed by President Bush to serve as the Alternate Federal Co-Chairman of the Delta Regional Authority. More recently, Nelson served as President of Arkansas’ Independent Colleges and Universities. In 2015, Nelson was named Senior Vice President and Director of Corporate Communications for Simmons First. Rex is chairman of the Political Animals Club of Little Rock and author of the Southern Fried blog.

Rex is an Arkansas institution and a champion for the state of Arkansas and its Delta region, in particular. Rex Nelson’s experience in and knowledge of state and national politics, as well as his famous story-telling, will be a real treat.
