St. James Church to Host MLK Banquet with Judge Earnest E. Brown, Jr. as Speaker


   Reverend Kent J. Broughton and members of the St. James A.M.E. Church of Warren extend an invitation to the 18th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Banquet. Everett Wallace is the program coordinator.

   The event will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28 in the St. James Church located at 915 St. James Street in Warren. Tickets cost $7 and can be purchased from members of the church or at the door.


   The church will also honor individuals at the event for outstanding achievements in areas of service to the community. The 2012 honorees are: Phyllis Childs, Rev. Henry Cox, Antonio Davis, Gail Ellis, James Goffin, Terry Golden, Maurentania Hooper, Marjorie Ross, Vivian Stanley, and Jeff Strong.


   St. James will host speaker Judge Earnet E. Brown, Jr. who currently serves as Circuit Judge for Sixth Division of the 11th Judicial District West (Jefferson and Lincoln Counties).  He is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity and the West Pine Bluff Rotary Club.  Brown has received a number of awards for his leadership and volunteerism.
