Reports were given on various grant projects ongoing throughout the area. District Director Glenn Bell updated the board on railroad improvements being made to the district owned railroad line.
At the conclusion of the board meeting, the Southeast Arkansas Regional Solid Waste Board meet and went over financial reports and activities relating to solid waste disposal and recycling throughout the southeast region.
Judge Spears of Cleveland County was elected as the new Chairman of the Solid Waste Board. His first meeting as Chairman will be in April when both the Development District and Solid Waste District meet in Star City.
