UAM To Host Annual Arkansas Political Science Association Conference

           MONTICELLO, AR — The University of Arkansas at Monticello will be host to the 2016 Arkansas Political Science Association’s state-wide annual conference this Friday and Saturday, February 26-27.
            The Arkansas Political Science Association includes university and secondary education political science instructors, graduate and undergraduate students, practitioners, and others interested in the scientific study of government and politics.
            This year’s conference, which begins at 12 p.m. Friday and concludes at 1 p.m. Saturday, consists of four sessions with four panels running each session, including themed panels, roundtable discussions, meet-the-author sessions and undergraduate student paper panels. There will be 65 speakers, including Dr. John Davis of the UAM political science faculty.
            The featured speaker for the Friday night banquet will be Chris Masingill of the Delta Regional Authority. On Saturday, UAM Associate Professor John Kyle Day will be discussing his recent book entitled The Southern Manifesto: Massive Resistance and the Fight to Preserve Segregation.
